Xeomin® incobotulinumtoxinA

Unlike fillers or volumizers, Xeomin is a neurotoxin that relaxes the muscles of the face that cause certain wrinkles that are upsetting to see.  These wrinkles are called dynamic wrinkles—one’s that are made worse by contracting muscles.  Aging, sun damage, and good ole genetics often cause these to occur.

If people ask if you are angry or tired or irritated just by the way your face looks—and, you’re not—then, Xeomin is for you!

Facial wrinkles most commonly that are helped by Xeomin are the frown lines between your eyebrows (“11” lines), the crow’s feet (or laugh lines) beside your eyes, and your horizontal forehead lines.  Other areas also can be treated using neurotoxins such as smoker’s lines around your lips, down-turned ends of your lips, horizontal neck lines, and other areas.

These unsightly lines occur when the facial muscles under the skin contract.  With the passage of time, your skin ages and the repeated action of your facial expressions cause lasting lines.  Xeomin is a neuromodulator prescription medication that blocks the chemical release, which causes the muscles to contract and thereby softening these dynamic wrinkles.

As a point of fact, Xeomin is increasingly being used in men to especially soften their frown lines that make them appear to be unhappy or irritated. Repeated contraction leads to etched-in lines that may make you look angry or irritated or unapproachable when, in fact, you are not.  Xeomin, here, is used to target the corrugator muscles preventing their contractions and leading to a more relaxed and a less tired, angry appearance.
